Hyperound K-Fest: When is it?
The music festival celebrating K-pop debuted last year and is coming back to Abu Dhabi in 2023. The Hyperound K-Fest will take place on Saturday, November 11, at Etihad Arena. The one-day festival will kick off at 3 p.m. for VIP category tickets and 6 p.m. for all other categories.
The event is organized by Hyperound Events in collaboration with Yas Island, Abu Dhabi. Hyperound K-Fest will deliver a spectacular lineup of music artists, many performing in the UAE for the first time.
Who will be performing?
The lineup is as follows:
Enhypen
Fan favorite seven-member boy group Enhypen is the headlining act of the event. The band formed in 2020 after winning the survival show ‘I-Land’, and gained acclaim after their debut with their dark and moody concepts, catchy songs, and brand ambassadorship with Prada.
Sumni
South Korean singer, songwriter, and record producer Sumni debuted in 2007 as a member of the girl group Wonder Girls but went solo in 2013. Sunmi is known for her powerful vocals, catchy melodies, and dance moves. Her album ‘Warning‘ was named the third-best K-pop album of 2018 by Billboard.
Epik High
Beloved by fans of old-school and alternative Korean hip-hop, Epik High is a three-member group that made its debut in 2001. Epik High is better known for their strong lyrics and experimental sound.
DPR Ian
Australian-Korean artist and DPR (Dream Perfect Regime) member, DPR Ian combines alternative R&B, hip-hop, and electronic sounds. The singer’s music is a raw and unfiltered look at his own life, including his struggles with mental health. He uses his music to tell the stories of his alter ego, Mito, who was born out of his bipolar disorder diagnosis.
XG
This seven-part girl group from Japan but based in South Korea, debuted last year in 2022 with their first single album, “La Maison”. XG (an acronym for Xtraordinary Girls) are known for their powerful vocals, sharp dance moves, and unique visual concept.
Cherry Bullet
Cherry Bullet is a seven-member girl group that debuted in 2019, with their first single album, “Let’s Play Cherry Bullet”. They bring a more refreshing and youthful sound to this lineup and their energetic performances will put the Hype in Hyperound K-Fest.
Peakboy
This South Korean singer-songwriter is known for his collaborations with other amazing artists, such as IU, BTS, and Epik High. He also performed at Hyperound K-Fest last year. Peakboy has also released solo music, which features smooth vocals and catchy melodies.
