Snap Inc recently disclosed its revenue reports highlighting a surge in users during the covid-19 pandemic. The average daily users come up to 249 million globally despite tough competition amongst other social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and Tik Tok. The report further highlights how, on average, over four billion snaps are generated by users.
Further emphasizing that there is a surge among Indian users across international markets, as watching Discover content has substantially increased by 50%. AR lenses appear to be on-demand as over 1.5 million lenses have been created. The AR community members hail from over 200 countries.
The popular hit in the AR platforms seems to be the ‘Anime Lens’ as users have tried it over 3 billion times within the first week. From July to September, there has also been an 80% increase in users watching sports content on Discover. As well as an average of 50 million users watches tv content on Snapchat monthly.
Now more than ever, Snapchat has been introducing creative methods to their advertisers with story ads, snap ads, AR lenses, and unique filters. As the Covid- 19 pandemic continues, users are scouting for several other options, and Snapchat has seized the opportunity with its innovative AR features.
