Messenger allows those who use Facebook to communicate through messages and video calls, and where you can also send pictures, videos and more. The platform itself is one of the largest in the world alongside WhatsApp and WeChat. Although Messenger celebrates its 10-year launch, there are still some features that many don’t know about.
Those who are not connected with you via Facebook are able to send you a message that would usually end up in your Message request folder. To access this, go onto your Messenger app, click on your picture (located in the top left corner), and you will find the Message requests folder. This is a way of filtering messages and can be seen as an automatic spam folder in-case a spam message has been sent.
If you reply to the sender, they will be able to message and call you as well as see whether you have read the message. It is important to be aware of who the sender is to manage your privacy settings and keep your profile safe from scammers and hackers.
Have you checked your Message requests recently? Comment and let us know if you have just discovered the requests folder!
