AI yearbook trend goes viral
Everybody’s nostalgic for the 90s. We see it through pop culture, social media trends, and even fashion. These days, social media users, and even celebrities, are wondering ‘What would you look like if you had graduated from high school in the 90s?’
High school from the 90s is often defined by its cliques. These groups of students are stereotyped based on their interests, fashion, and social status. Some of the most common cliques in 90s high school movies include jocks, cheerleaders, popular kids, nerds, goths, and outcasts. And the Epik app lets you transform yourself into each of them – for a price of course.
The app offers an “AI Yearbook” filter, which creates a series of retro-style photos of the user. The filter takes into account the user’s facial features and hairstyle and then generates images with different outfits, styles, and poses that are reminiscent of the 90s.

The AI yearbook trend has quickly gone viral, with people of all ages sharing their photos on social media. It’s a fun and nostalgic way to see yourself in a different light, and it’s also a great way to start a conversation with friends and family about which clique you best fit into.
But, how do you do it? Here’s everything you need to know:
How to do the AI yearbook trend
Step 1: Go onto your iOS or Android device, and download the EPIK – AI Photo Editor app.
Step 2: Once the app has been downloaded, launch it. An option noting ‘Try AI Yearbook’ will appear as a banner image. Click on it to launch the next page and click continue.
Step 3: The app will now ask you to upload 8-12 selfies of yourself. EPIK provides examples of both good and bad photos, so make sure to stick to those guidelines when picking pictures of yourself. After selecting the pictures, click next.
No need to worry about the pictures you upload for the trend. A note in the EPIK app says, “Uploaded photos are deleted immediately from EPIK servers after your yearbook image is made.”
Step 4: Select your preferred gender, and move on to payment. If you want to generate your AI yearbook photo, you’ll need to pay via an in-app purchase.
