Are you a social media influencer if you don’t have a blue tick? It’s what every celebrity influencer has or should have on their social media platforms to show they are verified and that their content is the only reliable content we should be looking at. There are a few steps you need to take in order to get verified on YouTube and we explain them.
Get people talking about your channel and share it on other social media channels or messaging services – Each time you create a brand-new video, share it across your other social channels on different days and share it with friends, telling them to share too. Word of mouth is important when trying to get verified as the more eyes that are on your channel, the more subscribers you will get and therefore the closer you are to getting verified.
If you already have the following and want to get straight into the verification, then you need to follow the application process. Note, YouTube won’t verify channels that are trying to impersonate another creator or brand. To be eligible to apply for verification your channel must reach 100,000 subscribers.
Makeup Artist, beauty educator, and influencer Nina Ubhi just got verified on YouTube, and to be eligible for the blue tick, she had to ensure:

Her channel is authentic – representing the creator, brand, or entity it claims to be. YouTube will check different factors to help verify your identity, such as the age of [the] channel, and also ask for more info or documentation.
Her channel is complete – Your channel must be public and have a channel banner, description, and profile picture. The channel also needs to have content and be active on YouTube.
In some cases, YouTube may also verify channels with less than 100k subscribers as they are well-known outside of the YouTube platform and this would be in the case of celebrities or mega-influencers.
