Admit it, you’re still thinking about the infamous fiasco that went down between Will Smith and Chris Rock a week prior to music’s biggest night. However, the prestigious award show, which was delayed for two months due to the pandemic, did supply us with memorable moments that will give you something new to talk about.

Together, let’s take a look at the best moments that are worthy of your attention.

Olivia Rodrigo‘s performance and win

The “good 4 you” singer made her Grammys debut with a smashing performance of her hit single “drivers license” but that wasn’t the only highlight of Olivia’s night; she also took home 3 awards including best new artist while she was nominated for 7 in total. Not bad for a 19 year old!

Megan Thee Stallion and Dua Lipa Invite Donatella Versace on stage

Megan Thee Stallion and Dua Lipa re-enacted Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston’s matching moment at the 1998 MTV Video Music Awards. After “fighting” about who stole whose look, Donatella joins the duo on stage to give each of their outfits a unique edge.

Billie Eilish honored Taylor Hawkins

Pop singer Billie Eilish took the stage, where she performed her single “Happier Than Ever” while paying tribute to the late Taylor Hawkins by wearing a t-shirt that featured his picture in the middle.

Jon Batiste took home 5 gramophones

With 11 nominations in different categories, everyone had their eyes on Jon Batiste. The most nominated star ended up winning 5 of them and his album We Are received the recognition it deserves by winning Album of the Year.

Ukraine’s president made a surprise appearance

If there’s any place for President Zelensky to make sure his voice is heard, it’s the Grammys. With a global audience tuned in, he surprised everyone with a touching speech, urging the world to help Ukraine survive the plight.

SZA and Doja Cat win their first Grammys (while Doja was in the bathroom)

The enigmatic duo won best pop duo/group performance for “Kiss Me More”; however, what makes this moment even more memorable is that Doja Cat was actually taking a bathroom break when the winners were announced!

When she did make it to the stage, Doja had to joke about the entire scenario by saying, “Listen, I have never taken such a fast [bathroom break] in my whole life”.

The night was not limited to these instances; multiple performances, such as Lady Gaga’s rendition of “Do I Love You”, left the audience in awe and numerous talents ended up having their hands full by the end of the ceremony.
