Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen have both reportedly hired divorce lawyers as the pair seeks guidance in “exploring their options” for the future. The couple, who’s been married since 2009, have been living separately for quite some time as stated by multiple sources close to them.
Rumours and online pop-culture publications have alleged that the couple is going through marital problems back in June after the seven-time Super Bowl champion quarterback announced he would be retiring from the sport back in February just to later unretired only 40 days after his initial public statement.
Brady was quick to shut down rumours circling around that he and his wife are having marital issues and are living separately. Looking at it now, maybe the news was not so far off after all…
Why would Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen hire divorce attorneys?
Tom Brady was stuck between a rock and a hard place last February, as the player for Tampa Bay Buccaneers knew once his retirement decision is finalised there would be no going back to a sport so physically demanding as football.
On the other hand, Brady had pressure from his wife, long-time supermodel Gisele, to become more present as a husband and father to their 3 children since his sporting career demanded most of his time.
Gisele has stated that she has some “concerns” about her husband returning to the field after retiring back in February. “This is a very violent sport, and I have my children and I would like him to be more present,” Bündchen stated. “I have definitely had those conversations with him over and over again. But ultimately, I feel that everybody has to make a decision that works for [them]. He needs to follow his joy, too.”
Even after the multiple back-to-back conversations about her needs and expectations in a partner, Brady was not yet ready to give up the opportunity to play ball and spend his days being more active at home. With the decision to be on the field, it comes with the risk of having his relationship on the line as Gisele might not stay around until Brady is ready to prioritise their life together.
In one of Tom Brady’s recent podcasts, the player mentioned the personal cost of playing in the NFL for the past 2 decades. “I haven’t had a Christmas in 23 years and I haven’t had a Thanksgiving in 23 years, I haven’t celebrated birthdays with people that I care about that are born from August to late January. And I’m not able to be at funerals and I’m not able to be at weddings,” Brady said. “I think there comes a point in your life where you say: ‘You know what? I’ve had my fill and it’s enough and time to go on, to move into other parts of life.”
We truly hope that the facts won’t realise, as they are truly a couple that radiates true love, but this does leave us to question; when is enough really enough, and will the couple finally see eye to eye for what they expect from one another in the future or will we see another celebrity couple part ways?
