Famous Twitch streamer Puppers, affectionately known as Max, grew up in Northern California. He started playing video games at a young age, with some of his favorite childhood games including; Kingdom Hearts, Resident Evil 4, etc.

In order to take his love of video games to the next level, Max began streaming on Justin.tv (now known as Twitch) in December 2011 in the name of MadMaxx13. He made a name for himself in the online community by finding his niche and was successful in spreading his love for video games across the world.

In the early days, MadMaxx13 became popular by playing League of Legends and a variety of horror games. He had a friendly nature and a very positive aura, his disposition made viewers feel like they are his long-time friends and make everyone find a home in his community.

About his channel and followers

In 2016, when Dead by Daylight was released, Max began playing the game on Twitch– and rebranded to Twitch.tv/Puppers shortly after getting a hold of his niche. Once the viewers found the Puppers channel they were hooked, they came to watch this new horror game and stayed with their newfound Puppers community.

It came with no surprise when in 2018, Twitch partnered with Max, and his viewership on the channel skyrocketed. Max became popular for his inspired cosplays, his in-game skits, and his interactive chat experience. Recognized and celebrated for his positive influence in the online gaming community, Max was also selected as one of the original Fog Whisperers.

His channel continued to see growth, and as of May 2021, Puppers has amassed close to 200,000 followers on Twitch. Check one of his Youtube videos:

Max was the epitome of positivity

Max’s fight with ALS began in early 2023 with what was reported to be a discomfort in his throat. This transitioned into a mild slur in his speech which was noticeable to his close friends at an early stage.

After months of extensive diagnosis and testing with multiple doctors, it was confirmed that it was nothing else but ALS. Because of the generosity of the community during Light in the Fog 2021, Max has had major help fighting this disease financially. These funds paid for his medications, medical equipment, sleep aids, wheelchairs, ramps for the home, remodeling to make his home more handicapped accessible, and so much more.

Despite his diagnosis, Max continued doing what he loved. He continued entertaining thousands, stayed positive, and welcomed everyone to his little corner of the internet where everyone is family.

A post on his Twitter page confirmed his death, saying ” He loved you all so very much. Thank you for all of the love and support throughout his career – making you all happy is truly what he lived for”.
