It can be frustrating when you accidently delete content from Instagram or delete a post that you regret removing. Earlier this year, Instagram created a Recently Deleted folder allowing Instagrammers to restore what they have lost. This is also helpful when hackers gain access to your account as in some cases, they may remove posts, meaning you would have to start from the beginning.
The Recently Deleted folder will give you the opportunity to restore posts during the 30 days from deletion. Everything from photo content to IGTV videos and reels can end up in this folder and if not restored, then deleted permanently after the 30 days.
How do I access the Recently Deleted folder?
To access this folder, click onto Settings, Account, Recently Deleted and you will be able to see the list of deleted items. The steps are simple and will give you peace of mind in the future should you wish to retrieve certain content.
Some people may argue the that the Archive folder and Recently Deleted folder are similar to each other, however, they have a clear differentiation. Archiving a post stays longer than a deleted post, and the Archive folder also allows you to play around with what works and what doesn’t, simply restoring the image back into the correct place that it was first uploaded.
