Jay-Z returns to Instagram
After 2 years away from the social media platform, Jay-Z returned to Instagram on Tuesday to promote his latest film “The Book of Clarence”. The film stars Benedict Cumberbatch, James McAvoy, and LaKeith Stanfield, with the rapper as one of the producers of the movie.
This, however, isn’t the first time Jay-Z has done this. In November of 2021, after having been on the application for exactly a day and gaining 1 million followers within that span of time, he deactivated his account.
At the time, the rapper had created the account to promote his film “The Harder They Fall”, which was debuting on Netflix that same day following a limited theatrical release.
Who is he following?
Just as when he first joined Instagram, Jay-Z is following just one person on social media: his wife of 15 years, Beyoncé. Similarly, the first person Beyoncé has followed on the application since 2012 was her husband.
The couple have 3 children together: Blue Ivy, 11, and fraternal twins Rumi and Sir, six. The couple has also amassed a $3 billion fortune together.
On January 21, 2023, Beyoncé gave a private performance on the Palm Jumeirah in Dubai to commemorate the unveiling of luxury hotel resort Atlantis The Royal. It was her first concert since 2018.
Since then, Beyoncé’s Renaissance tour kicked off on May 10 in Stockholm, Sweden, where she played for a sold-out crowd. She is currently touring in the United States.
