Good times are in store for those of us who enjoy making the most of our Instagram Stories.
The photo, video and Story-sharing platform’s new design are making it easier than ever before for creators to access some of their favorite Story features.
The new design of the platform now includes a “Create” option for those users who want to access certain features. They can now “swipe” through to use features like GIFS, polls, countdowns and more without having to add them through stickers.
Additionally, users will now be able to play around with these creative tools without having to take a picture first. GIFS can also be used as a background for pictures so stories can become more interesting and relatable than ever before.
A video of the new layout can be seen in a tweet from social media expert and commentator Matt Navarra.

Other Instagram updates include adding “Dark Mode” option, and the platform has also removed the option for users to check the activity of who they’re following. Finally, everyone could be a mild social media stalker in piece and not be exposed when they like a picture from five years ago.
New Features Coming Soon
Besides the new Creative mode, Instagram also is working on new features for the upcoming future.
Although they have not been announced to the public yet, they have been spotted on Twitter by social media reverse-engineer mastermind Jane Munchun Wong (who is well known for using coding skills to uncover “hidden” app features.)
A series of tweets from the coder show that Instagram is considering adding a direct messaging option for desktop users.

This potential new feature would make brands, marketers and content creators’ lives MUCH easier, giving users the option to respond to their DMs from their laptop (as opposed to from their smartphone.)
Creative mode on Instagram is now live, so be sure to update your app for the opportunity to play around with the new design and features.
