Looks like Twitter isn’t the only social media platform keeping secrets from its users.
It’s been revealed that Instagram has been hiding a new Stories sticker feature within its code.
According to MixMag “. . . the platform will be introducing “music stickers” for its popular Stories function . . . [It] will allow users to search and add songs to Story posts thanks to licensing deals recently acquired through Facebook.”
The photo-sharing app is also testing a feature that will auto-detect songs playing in the background of Stories and posts. Apparently, it will eventually give users the option to display the song title and artist name within their posts.

This new feature could be potentially game changing, as many Insta users already incorporate songs into the backgrounds of their posts and Stories.
As TechCrunch points out “. . . the feature could also steal thunder from teen lip syncing app sensation Musically, and stumbling rival Snapchat that planned but scrapped a big foray into music.”Â
Considering Facebook recently announced its new licensing deal with three of the biggest record labels in the music industry, it makes sense that Facebook-owned Instagram would follow suit with some kind of new music feature.
Regardless, we’re sure plenty of Insta fans will make the most of this new feature.
Instagram has yet to reveal when it plans to roll out this feature. Keep an eye out for it!
