Shilpa Shetty and her husband Raj Kundra performed their immersion with a huge celebration on September 20. Ganesh Chaturthi, a major Hindu festival, started on the 19th of September. Devotees spend days commemorating the birth of Lord Ganesha by setting up idols in people’s homes and publicly to worship. Ganpati Visarjan is a part of the festivities as it is when Ganesha images are immersed in a river, sea, or water body.

Shilpa Shetty dances for Ganpati Visarjan
Shilpa Shetty kick-started the Ganesh Chaturthi by welcoming the Ganpati Bappa to her house on September 19th as per her yearly custom. On Wednesday, September 20th, as part of the Ganesh Visarjan celebration, she said goodbye to the god with love and devotion.Â
The actress was seen dancing excitedly with her husband Raj Kundra. Shilpa Shetty’s sister Shamita Shetty and kids Viaan Kundra and Samisha Kundra were also seen dancing to the beat of the dhol.Â
Shilpa wore a beautiful traditional pink saree with a yellow cutout blouse. She elevated the look with a yellow gajra, classic necklaces, and bangles that complement her outfit and give her an air of timeless beauty.
Raj Kundra’s mask explained
Kundra has been wearing a mask during public sightings to avoid the paparazzi and media. After a fan asked on X, formerly Twitter, why he wears it, Kundra replied, “I wear it for media, that’s all they will get of me from now!”
The Ganpati Visarjan immersion was no different. However, as Shilpa prepared for the release of her upcoming film ‘Sukhee’, her husband Raj decided to show his support by wearing his black mask, but with one alteration: it has ‘Sukhee’ written across it. He wore a pink printed kurta and white trousers. He layered his kurta with an off-white hoodie.
Shilpa’s most recent movie ‘Sukhee’ is about the title character, Sukhee, reliving the 17-year-old version of herself whilst going through a plethora of experiences in a span of just seven days. She comes out of the experience rekindled, reborn, and making a difficult transition in her life – from being a wife and a mother to being a woman again.
The film is set to release in cinemas on September 22. It co-stars Kusha Kapila and Amit Sadh. Watch the trailer here:
