Business is booming for New Ho King. The Chinese restaurant mentioned by Kendrick Lamar on “Euphoria” hopes to capitalize on the attention by naming a special plate after K. Dot.
Last week, food blogger @insta.noodls stopped by New Ho King in Toronto to order the “Kendrick Lamar Special” and sampled the fried rice with the dip sauce that the Compton rapper referenced in his song “Euphoria.”
In addition to the late-night chow spot’s famed fried rice, he’s prepared spicy fried chicken wings, fried shrimp, and a beef and broccoli dish. The four-plate lunch costs $66 before taxes and tips.
What The Lyric Did For The Restaurant …
The restaurant has apparently noticed an increase in orders when Lamar rapped on Drake’s fiery diss track, “I be at New Ho King eatin’ fried rice with a dip sauce and a blammy, crodie.”
A server from the restaurant said: “We’ve been selling a lot of fried rice. A lot. “Most people come here to order it.”
While increased Ho King is located near Drake’s hometown’s downtown core, the owners are grateful for the increased business as a result of Lamar’s name-drop.
“I see, Lamar is a decent guy. “Oh my God!” New Ho King’s owner, Johnny Lu claimed.
Fans are flocking from all over Canada to taste New Ho King, which has become a major attraction. “I came all the way from Markham just to see this fried rice,” a supporter said. “Lamar is a man. You must show respect to K. Dot, man. Since he launched the diss track, I’ve been like, ‘I wanna see this area.'”
“Euphoria” climbed to No. 3 on the newest Billboard Hot 100 in its first full week of tracking after debuting at No. 11. It was an animosity-filled Hot 100 top ten, with K. Dot’s Mustard-produced “Not Like Us” launching at number one and Drake’s “Family Matters” rebuttal at number seven.
