Pinterest is often underrated on it’s ability to connect creators and monetize on posts.
However, with two new ad tools, the platform are providing new ways for creators to tap into further product discovery and make money.
Paid partnership tools on Pinterest
Firstly, the platform is launching a new Paid Partnership feature, that allows creators to monetize their Pin efforts, just by tagging businesses in their Idea Pins.
What this does is, when creators tag a partner brand in their Idea Pin, this then notifies the brand regarding the collaboration initiative.
The originator of the content and the brand can then negotiate the terms of their collaboration. Making it a fantastic way to streamline the brand deal process and open up various opportunities for partnerships.
Pinterest has over 430 million active users on the site, making it a credible source for eCommerce and product opportunity.
If brands go on to cross-promote the content of a creator via this method, it opens up another revenue stream for creatives using the platform.
Idea Ads on Pinterest
The second tool the site is adding, is ‘Idea Ads’, which are full-screen, multi-page presentations that also include custom links.
To drive responses, Idea Ads will showcase in user feeds and will use the app’s interest targeting tools.
It’s in essence an Idea Pin, which through paid promotion enables your content to appear in the hands of multiple Pinterest users.
It’s important to note that Idea Ads that use paid promo will have a  ‘Promoted by’ sticker underneath the creator’s name, in addition to links to both the creator’s and brand’s accounts.
These additions make it a great way to get relevant content infront of an audience and allows creators to monetize of their expertise.
According to Pinterest, brand collaborations with creators generate 38 % higher brand awareness and wider appeal and 37 percent increased Pin awareness.
