‘Edit’ button will soon be available for Twitter Blue users

The long-awaited edit feature is set to be released very soon.

The Twitter-Musk fiasco isn’t the only Twitter-related news that’s trending at the moment. On April 6, the app finally revealed that it is working on the long-awaited ‘edit’ button in a tweet that has since received over 25 thousand likes, which makes us believe that users are pretty happy with the update.

However, what caused quite the stir is popular mobile developer and reverse engineer Alessandro Paluzzi‘s tweet, in which he leaked screenshots of the feature and showed what it is expected to look like to the end-user.

As it is apparent in the following shot, we can expect to have access to the Edit Tweet button by clicking on the three-dot menu that shows up once a tweet is published. The tweet will then open in an editable box where users can make changes and finally click on the Update button to publish the updated version of their tweet.

Seeing that Twitter announced that it is “kicking off testing within @TwitterBlue Labs in the coming months to learn what works, what doesn’t, and what’s possible.” and knowing that the feature is in development, we can expect the new feature to have a new look by the time it is ready to be officially launched.

Having said that, it is important to note that this update will not be available to all Twitter users; only the lucky Twitter Blue members, aka the ones who pay a monthly subscription fee to get access to exclusive and premium content, will benefit from the latest update and be able to tweet without having to meticulously check for typos before hitting the blue Tweet button. Also, they will have the ability to edit a tweet without having to delete it and losing all your likes, retweets or replies is definitely an added bonus that we’ve all been longing for.

The regular changes that can be seen on social media are a good indicator that these applications are closely listening to their users and always striving to optimize their user experience, encouraging them to be more and more active on their platforms. In addition, the frequent updates come as a response to what competitors are offering their users and as an attempt to keep up with all the recent digital trends.

Now we’re not sure about you, but we’re definitely considering the Twitter Blue membership at the moment.
