WOMEN-OWNED BUSINESSES TO SUPPORT EVERYDAY & NOT JUST ON WOMEN’S DAY

It’s not Women’s Day anymore but these brands still deserve recognition.

Kudos to all the women who have made it! With all the bias and obstacles that women are still facing up until this day, succeeding in the business world is not as easy as it seems. To highlight a few of these successes, we’ve compiled a list of female-owned businesses located in the UAE and Lebanon that deserve a little shoutout.

MUMZWORLD

In 2011, this business was founded by Mona Ataya, who just couldn’t find the perfect platform for products or advice related to motherhood so she decided to build her own. Today, Mumzworld is trusted by moms from all around the world and has built a large community based on women empowerment and for that, we definitely give it a thumbs up.

LEÏA K

Based in Lebanon, Leïa Khalaf’s jewelry has managed to reach different corners of the Earth. The woman who was once working as a lawyer decided to pursue her dreams and establish her very own brand Leïa K. It’s a good thing she did because her pieces feature real skill, craftsmanship, and a whole lot of passion.

GLOSSY LOUNGE

Beauty expert Natasha Zaki founded this brand with three main pillars in mind: fashion, sustainability and body positivity. Produced and designed in the UAE, Glossy Lounge is now redefining the concept of loungewear, calling women to feel comfortable in any outfit they have on.

MAMA RITA

Model Jessica Kahawaty has recently joined forces with her mom to bring their new concept to life in the UAE. Mama Rita aims to serve people healthy, homecooked meals that give them the opportunity to remember the taste of home every now and then; after all, the business is called Mama Rita for a reason.

ANDREA WAZEN

Andrea Wazen is quickly making a name for herself in the footwear world. With celebrities now wearing her designs, the Lebanese-born owner is now a household name, inspiring other women to follow in her footsteps and achieve their design dreams.

BY LANA YASSINE

If you’re looking for a personalized gift then this Lebanese-based business should perfectly answer your needs. The founder’s obsession with stationery and notebooks eventually led her to quit her daytime job and focus on her true passion, which is now her brand By Lana Yassine. Now this is what we call an act of courage.

THE CONCEPTT

What started as a personal devotion to fashion turned into a full-fledged clothing brand. Aleen Sabbagh, the young Lebanese face behind it all, goes from one factory to the other looking to constantly design drop trendy collections that always manage to sell out quickly. If we were you, we’d keep an eye on The Conceptt!

SHIFFA BEAUTY

A beauty brand founded by a woman who’s also a doctor, what more could you ask for? Dr. Lamees Hamdan uses her expertise to combine clean ingredients to naturally give Shiffa Beauty fans the glow that they deserve.
