Youtube Live is making some vital changes to keep answering creators’ needs and compete with the options that other social media platforms are offering.
First things first, the video sharing platform is planning on launching a pilot called ‘Go Live Together’ very soon, permitting influencers to invite a guest to join their live stream by sharing a specific link; however, guests will not have access to the session’s streaming analytics. You know that pressure you feel when you’re live and you find it difficult to keep the conversation going? Well, this feature is being introduced so you don’t have to go through it again.
This addition is meant to encourage influencers and creators to stream more, leading them towards monetizing their content by using Youtube’s ads and tools.
Also, a “live rings” feature will be implemented to notify users or subscribers whenever their favorite Youtube is live and Creator Insider shared the following preview to give us a sneak peak of the feature in their video.
The Youtube team did not stop there. In order to provide further opportunities for Youtubers to grow and monetize their content, they are looking to add ‘cross channel live redirects’. Katherine, a product manager at Youtube, explains how it works:
“Today, creators with at least a thousand subscribers can use a feature called live redirect to direct their viewers from a live stream or premier to another livestream or premier on their own channel. But they can’t send their viewers to a livestream or premier hosted on another channel. With this launch, creators with at least a thousand subscribers and no active community guidelines strikes will be able to direct their viewers to a livestream or premier hosted on a different channel.”
Finally, Youtube creators can also expect to see a full-screen mode for Live and a Q and A space that will give them the opportunity to interact with their viewers.
We can’t wait to see how many influencer partnerships will result out of this new upgrade!
