Youtube introduces improved analytics options with Youtube Studio

Content creators can now improve their understanding of their audience with Youtube’s latest analytics options.

With Youtube diversifying its channel and adding different content creation tools for its users, it doesn’t come as a surprise that the platform is offering all of us access to more insights and improved analytics options in collaboration with YouTube Studio.

As it is apparent in the previous image, the ‘Reach’ and ‘Engagement’ tabs in Studio are set to be replaced by a new ‘Content’ tab, a button that will allow users to access a display of separate data for Shorts, live-streams, posts and even videos!

The addition of analytics options comes as a result of listening to users’ request and thus, they can finally click on the different sections to show them specific data for each; these changes will surely benefit Youtubers by giving them the chance to track the performance of different content types, showing them which ones are most successful on their channel.

For example, you might have believed that video content receives more engagement from your subscribers without knowing if this engagement originates from Shorts or regular videos.

To add to that, Youtube also notes that previous analytics options will still be available for use with this new format, even if their organization and placement might look a little different. To give a quick example, a tab such as Traffic Sources, which used to be available in the Reach tab, can now be found alone in each individual content type display.

Those looking to go beyond the regular analytics options, you can switch to ‘Advanced Mode’ and Creator Insider’s team breaks down how to do it for you:

“For example on desktop go to the top right corner and click on the ‘Advanced Mode’ button and there you’ll be able to filter metrics by content type, so that you can, for example, see the watch time on your live streams as well.”

Youtube uploads can now be closely monitored to assess their performance in order to determine which medium you should be focusing on to increase engagement and expand your reach.

The new and improved YouTube Studio Content tab and its brand new analytics options will become fully available over the next few weeks for all creators; however, it should be noted that the content tabs will only be visible if a user has already uploaded that specific type of video.
