Threads Posting Limits

The Threads app offers users the capability to submit text content of up to 500 characters, giving them a concise platform to express their thoughts and ideas. Additionally, users have the ability to attach various types of multimedia content, such as links, images, and videos. The video duration limit for videos shared on Threads is set at 5 minutes, ensuring that users can share relatively short video clips.

On Threads, users can post 500 characters in one post. It also supports images, videos, and GIFs. A Thread post supports up to 10 media items at once.

Threads Vs. Twitter: Notable Posting Differences

Comparing Threads to its competitor, Twitter, notable differences emerge in terms of character limits and video durations. Twitter imposes a character restriction of 280 characters for non-Blue subscribers, which can be quite limiting for expressing complex or detailed thoughts. However, for paid users, Twitter extends this limit significantly to 10,000 characters, allowing for more comprehensive and extensive posts.

For video duration, Twitter limits non-Blue subscribers to videos that are no longer than 2 minutes and 20 seconds. This constraint ensures that videos shared on the platform are relatively concise and to the point. In contrast, Twitter Blue subscribers enjoy a significant advantage, as they are allowed to submit videos of up to 2 hours in duration. This generous time limit grants greater flexibility and enables the sharing of longer videos on the platform.
