Learn how to grow your online presence without showing your face in posts by following the simple steps below.
1. Pick a niche
This is stating the obvious but let’s dive into it a little more. A few industries that already work well without showing face in videos are gaming videos, cooking videos, drawing/art videos, re-sharing/memes, travel, book, hobby, and pet accounts.
It helps to create an image or focus your brand on that trend when you have your chosen niche. If you want to grow your personal brand then it is encouraged to show your face in your profile picture as you are your brand. But when you are faceless, then it is more about emphasising the brand or industry that you’re in.
You can utilise a very clear photo or logo to represent the industry you are in as well as using the relevant name to make it clear.
Play with various styles of faceless content
There are so many ways to be faceless in content. It is a little hard in this era as so many platforms are pushing video content, so if you want to grow fast, then you need to focus on a clear video strategy.
You can use stock videos and piece them together to create something unique. The next style of video is prop style where you can get different items, and create something from these items and objects. Some examples of these are over-head shot cooking videos or art videos, and painting. You can also do screen-recording or screen-sharing which makes more sense for gaming as you can talk us through a video game or a game you are playing without having to show your face.
Quality over Quantity
Even if it’s not the best quality in the world, it is eye-catching. Content creators and influencers do not just pump out content 5 times a day unless the quality of it isn’t good. They are taking their time to create something that the audience will be engaged with. This then ties in with story-telling – how will you keep your audience coming back onto your page once you grab their attention? The 4 pillars you should focus on are:
- Educational
- Entertaining
- Inspirational
- Relatable
How will you use these value pillars to stay engaging?
Study what works
Look at other accounts who are capturing attention without using their face in their stories or posts and taking inspiration from it. Think about makes you stop scrolling from that account then check your own account – does it give you that same feeling and if not then why?
Pin your call-to-action in the comments
Do you sometimes go to the comments before you have even finished the video? It is so important to pin your call-to-action in the comments section. Get creative with it so you’re not saying “follow me now” and saying “if you like this, check out our page” encouraging the person to binge a little more on your videos rather than forcing them to follow you.
