UK’s BIGGEST YouTube crew, The Sidemen are back and for one of their Christmas projects they are creating some tracks, this time it is for their ‘SIDEMEN $100,000 vs $100 CHRISTMAS SONG’ video.
New Christmas Songs from The Sidemen
On the 4th of this month, the Sidemen released two music videos. The 7-man group was split into two teams, one of which consisted of KSI, TBJZL, and Vikkstar123 (who got the $100,000 and recruited famed-rapper JME, and producer Nyge), the other comprised W2S, Miniminter, Zerkaa, Behzinga, and Randolph (who got the $100). Each group was given a varying budget and 24 hours within which they had to compose the song, record the vocals, AND the music video for it. Both teams we able to fully upload the videos on their MoreSidemen channel, the behind-the-scenes of which can be seen on the Sidemen channel.
The group with the larger budget created a song titled ‘Christmas Drill’ and the group with limited funds created the song ‘This or That.’ KSI, Vikk, and Tobi rented out a whole studio for the shoot with props and professional-grade equipment while being decked out in stylish winter wear. The beats and flow of the song made it clear that this is definitely a drill song and not the usual Christmas song.
Harry, Simon, Ethan, and Josh on the other hand used their Sidemen+ Podcast studio as the location and wrapped themselves in tinsel. Their tune utilized EDM beats and even had Vikks classic meme ‘To be fair though’. Since this is a competition, the winning group will be determined based on the total streams until Christmas Day. You can stream the songs on YouTube, Apple Music, and Spotify. Regardless of the outcome, all proceeds from these songs will go to charity. Currently, the videos have 5.5 million and 4.6 million views respectively and Christmas Drill is aiming for the coveted U.K. Christmas No. 1 spot.
The 53-minute-long behind-the-scenes video on the Sidemen channels shows the absolute goofiness and madness that went into creating both these tracks. The boys had fun creating their tracks as well as listening to the other team’s tracks. The back-and-forth banter in their videos has left fans enjoying as always.
Aside from the $100,000 vs $100 Christmas song project, the group has other Christmas projects lined up. They have their “Extreme Christmas Cook Off” project and their “Christmas Quiz” which can all be viewed on the Sidemen YouTube Channel.
