Are you ready to approach companies to step up your influencer game on social media? The most professional way to present yourself is to show a rate card.
A rate card is a one-sided document showing all the necessary information that companies and businesses want to see when hiring you. Let’s go through the list of things to include when creating your rate card.
Table of Contents
Name & Image
First things first, put your name at the top of the card and make sure it is clear for everyone to see. This is the name that you want to be known by and that is clear on your social media channels as well. Your rate card is like your CV, it should have all of the important information on there and in order of importance.
Above your name, include a clear image of yourself. This should represent who you are and be clear for the team to see.
About
Next, you can write a short paragraph or a few sentences about yourself. This is so the company can easily familiarise themselves with you without having to go on your social media page.
Your about should be short, sweet, and personalised – it is like your bio to get to know you. What is the most important point that you want to get across and will everyone know who you are when they read it?
Engagement
Engagement is one of the main things that a company wants and needs to see. This is important as the information will tell whether you are a suitable fit for the business who would like to hire you. The most important things to note down are your social media following, how many monthly impressions you have, the engagement rate of your profile, and the audience who are on your page.
Services/Rate
Next are your rates. Your rate will depend on how many followers you have and the engagement on your profile. A 2023 Shopify article suggested:
Nano influencers (1000 – 10,000 followers): $10 – $100 per post. Micro-influencers (10,000 – 50,000 followers):Â $100 – $500 per post. Mid-tier influencers (50,000 – 500,000 followers): $500 – $5,000 per post. Macro influencers (500,000 – 1,000,000 followers): $5000 – $10,000 per post.
Take a look at a few rate cards, analysing the following and engagement, then see what the rates are on the card. This will give you a guideline of what you should charge for your profile.

Contact
Include your contact details like your email and phone number so the talent team can be in contact with you quickly and easily. Make sure it is clear and at the bottom or top of your rate card.
Style/Appearance
The style of your card is a representation of your social media profile and who you are. This is where you can get creative and show off your individual personality. If you’re a car racer, we wouldn’t expect your rate card to be pink with flowers and unicorns.
Using the example above, your rate card can be created into a longer Media Kit where you can deep dive into more details. It depends on how much time you would like to spend on it, and what details are being asked of you.
