Meta announces new feature
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced Thursday that they are rolling out the ability to switch between accounts on the messaging app on Android smartphones. This means you finally don’t have to lug around an extra device or continuously log out of your account to be able to access the other.
While it’s gotten easier to access the same account on multiple devices, and updates have expanded this feature to include additional smartphones as well, which no longer limits you from using your account on a single phone, this is a new one feature for users that will make things a lot more easier.
How to add multiple accounts to WhatsApp
To set up a second account, you will need a second phone number and SIM card, or a phone that accepts multi-SIM or eSIM. Once you’ve handled that, follow the steps below to create multiple accounts in the application:
Step 1: Open the WhatsApp application.
Step 2: On the main chats page, click on the three dots in the top right corner. Here, select ‘Settings’.
Step 3: Click on the arrow next to your name, and select the ‘Add account’ option. Follow the steps on the screen, and you’ll soon be able to access multiple accounts on the application.
Additionally, you can control your privacy and notification settings on each account.
