If you have decided to learn how to become a successful Twitch streamer then below is your short and simple guide on how to grow your channel to be the best it can be for yourself and your audience.
Don’t count your views
You are just starting so give yourself some slack. Yes, there are millions of Twitch streamers on the channel but it’s not a competition, nor is it a race to be at the top. Enjoy the content you are creating and show that you are having fun at the same time! Have you ever watched a streamer looking bored or tired? No, you will always see them upbeat so make sure that reflects in your stream.
The more you have fun with your streaming, the more the viewers will come and watch – you have to give them something to binge on otherwise they will come and go.
Play with others
Although you may be an introvert and enjoy playing games by yourself, it is beneficial to also venture out, and play with others. If a viewer comes across your platform, they could join in which means you could be gaining a follower or two!
By having others to play with, you are branching out and for some, it makes better content if there is a contrast of players. The conversation will be flowing and different opinions could come up in the game where other viewers can then jump in and share their thoughts. It’s always good when there is an open conversation, and different views are jumping in and out of the air as more people can get involved – everyone has something to say in this day and age so get a conversation or debate going!
Set up different social media accounts
It’s great if you love Twitch, however, by posting on other social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter, you are opening another form of viewers coming onto your Twitch page.
Platforms like Facebook and Twitter especially allow you to join gaming groups, streaming groups, and Twitch groups as well as Twitter is a place to share your thoughts on a game or something about the platform. With others listening to your views and you sharing your streaming videos on these social media platforms, you’re widening your reach.
Stick to a time
Just like your favourite show that you binge-watch, or your favourite streamer that you enjoy watching, there is a time and place for it. You may sit down at 5 pm for example, and watch something you enjoy with your favourite snack, change of clothing, or whatever your routine is because it’s just that – a routine.
Schedule what time you are going to stream so people know what time to tune in and watch your content. This is also a good experiment for you to find out which time performs better so it’s worth experimenting with different times and seeing how long viewers stick around for your content. This way, you’re helping someone fit your video into their routine, giving them the same feeling you have when you are ready at a certain time to sit down and watch your favourite streamer.
