A new addition to Instagram Stories is being tested by the social media platform right now.
Václav Blahout a Twitter user has shared an image of a new, animated selfie sticker tool which would overlay graphics and effects of different emoji characters to be placed on top of a user’s selfie, according to Social Media Today.

The uders who would like to try this feature will be able to access it via Instagram’s new “Selfie” sticker option, and the round selfie stickers can be applied as many times as users choose to apply within their Stories frame. If this feature does get released to Instagram’s wide audience it would be a new and creative feature for users to add onto their stories, according to Social Media Today.
Blahout, the Twitter user, is based in Czech Republic, so it seems that this new feature is only available in certain regions or to selected users; however, Social Media Today has asked Instagram if they could provide any additional information regarding this feature.Â
Instagram has a growing list of Stories features in which this new sticker will be added to; for in the first three months of 2020 Instagram has:
- Created and launched an option to reply to Stories with GIFs
- Started testing out a new video trimming feature for Instagram Stories
- Started testing a new map sticker for users to add to Stories which would display user’s location on a world map
- Added a new feature and option which would enable users to easily re-share and find Stories which mention their profile
- Introduced new features to Boomerange such as “SloMo”, “Echo” and “Duo”
- Started testing a new “Mirror” mode feature for Stories Camera
During this COVID-19 pandemic it makes sense for social media platforms to be rolling out new tests and features in order to keep users entertained during their lockdown, according to Social Media Today.
Instagram is rolling out another feature in testing amidst this lockdown, so stay tuned to the updates!
