Bella Hadid Brings Back A True ’90s Micro Dress

Check out what Bella Hadid wore to the Cannes Film Festival

Outfit Details

Bella Hadid‘s return to the Cannes Film Festival meant it was only a matter of time until she debuted some serious retro style. A little under 24 hours after walking the Cannes red carpet for the first time in two years, Bella Hadid embraced her love of vintage style today.

Bella Hadid wore a Gianni Versace halter dress instead of her see-through Saint Laurent hosiery. From the form-hugging silhouette that fit the model like a glove to the plunging scoop neckline, her short corset dress epitomized the style of the ’90s Versace. The dress was lined with abstract blue designs in addition to its shimmering yellow jacquard fabric. Bella Hadid wore her minidress in a very basic way. She chose camel-colored shoes, a sleek updo, and some tinted Bayonetta sunglasses.

Bella’s Debut at Cannes Film Festival

With the exception of the last two years, Hadid has attended the Cannes Film Festival for the majority of the last ten years. In addition, although her nude Saint Laurent appearance was a change from her typical festival attire of outfits reminiscent of Monica Bellucci-esque dresses, this Gianni Versace number turned out to be quite the return to form.

Surprisingly, Hadid had even more vintage attire from the source of her Versace moment. Wearing a spring 2003 Dolce & Gabbana outfit, the supermodel and recently launched fragrance entrepreneur was observed earlier in the day on the terrace of the Hotel Martinez. Her stylist Molly Dickson found her the corset gown at Opulent Addict; Jessica Alba had worn it on a red carpet event back in the early 2000s. Hadid struck poses that would have made the former Queens of Cannes pleased, accessorizing her classic pull with diamond earrings and black sunglasses.

Hadid is, of course, no stranger to retro style, particularly when it comes to the Cannes Film Festival. The runway star has contributed a few iconic looks to the Croisette, including a Gucci gown from the Tom Ford era and a 2002 Jean Paul Gaultier outfit. She has also worn Dolce & Gabbana and Gianni Versace twice before in Cannes, so she knows how to rock both Italian labels.

And now, before the event ends this weekend, what additional vintage finds does Hadid have in store? Time will tell.
