Blonde hair, a glass slipper, and a gorgeous blue gown: Katy Perry channels Disney’s Cinderella during American Idol’s Disney night. She first appeared in a pink cleaning dress then made a rapid outfit change, revealing her custom designed Cinderella blue dress.

On a recent post captioned “Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo,” the artist quotes the classic film’s famous tagline showcasing the costume change.

Fashion designer Nephi Garcia designed and created the dress as well as helped the artist with her transformation. The designer took to his Instagram to thank Katy Perry for the opportunity and to express his excitement that followed the artist’s majestic appearance on stage. As well as her stunning gown, Katy Perry also wore Cinderella’s inspired glass slipper. She shared photos of her slipper on social media with the caption, “Shoesday was so magical it started on Sunday.” She also tagged her shoe brand @katyperrycollections and posted her glass slipper inspired collection, with each shoe retailing at $65 each.

About the Night

The night itself started with the American Idol judges: Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie embarking on a trip to the Disneyland Resort in California to enjoy the summer’s Pixar Fest. They were accompanied by host Ryan Seacrest.

The top five contestants, who also preformed classical songs during the episode, started their night by flying to Florida’s Walt Disney Resort to celebrate.

A Disney-Inspired Mother’s Day

Since the episode aired on mother’s day, Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom’s three-year old daughter, Daisy Dove made an appearance to support her mother and watch her magically transform into Disney’s Cinderella. Katy Perry later took to Instagram to express her gratitude for being a mother.
