LeBron James makes it to Forbes Billionaire’s List
Just recently, he has made it as the first ever active NBA player to be on the Forbes’ Billionaire List.
As the NBA’s highest-paid active player, he has earned more than $385 million in salary from the Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat, and Los Angeles Lakers.
That’s not all, aside from being the MVP basketball player, he has taken the opportunity to maximise his opportunities outside of the court.
He has earned more than $900 million from brand endorsements and other ventures.
At the age of 18, he signed his first contract with Nike, rejecting offers from other sports retailers Reebok and Adidas, as he strongly believed Nike would be a much better partner long-term.
Forbes went on to state some of his other side businesses:
SpringHill, the TV and movie production outfit built by James and business partner Maverick Carter. Last October, outside investors including Boston Red Sox owner Fenway Sports Group and Epic Games bought into the venture—which helped produce the $163 million (worldwide box office gross) Space Jam: A New Legacy and HBO documentary What’s My Name: Muhammad Ali—at a $725 million valuation. James, of course, remains the biggest shareholder.
Property investments
Additionally, James owns at least three known properties totaling approximately $80 million.
He spent $10 million to build a mansion near his hometown in Ohio.
Moreover, in  2017, he paid $23 million for an eight-bedroom mansion in Los Angeles’ affluent Brentwood neighborhood and his most recent purchase: a 13,000-square-foot Beverly Hills mansion.
