There is no better platform to market yourself professionally and promote your business, than on LinkedIn. Users of LinkedIn can connect with other working individuals and build on their professional network.Â
Currently, the platform has over 810 million members who are active users on the site.
In this article, we will be going over the 2 new features LinkedIn has introduced, to increase engagement.
Reposting on LinkedIn
The network are rolling out a new, straightforward ‘Repost’ button that can be found inside the ‘Share’ menu.
In an examplar post by social media expert Matt Navarra, you can see that when clicking on the ‘Share’ command, you’ll notice a new ‘Repost’ option, that then allows you to post without adding a comment – the way it is currently.
Very similar to Twitter’s re-tweeting feature that is designed to speed up and streamline the process for users.
Event Page Comments
LinkedIn Events have always been an excellent method to keep yourself aware and knowledgeable on industry topics, as well as providing the chance to interact and grow your own network.
As per the new update, you can now ask questions or reply to other people’s comments within an event page.
The platform stated:
“Comment or react directly on the Event post on the feed or on the Event page in Comments tab. Comment will not generate notifications to the Event attendees. To invite people to the conversation, you can mention them in your comment.”
The social networking site also made it a point to distinguish the difference betweek LinkedIn Events & Live.
Since Live events are interactive and encourage live discussions, the comments on the Event post and Event page are not comparable:
- Event post: Comments and reactions are displayed the same way before, during, and after the Live event.
- Event page: Comments and reactions made during the Live event are shown in real-time. The replay of the Live event also shows comments and reactions in context: a comment made 3 minutes into the Live event will show only for a limited time during the replay. Replay the video to view and respond to comments.
