Event Details and Patronage
Under Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council, the Arab Media Forum and the Arab Social Media Influencers Award organizing committee held a ceremony to honor the winners. The event took place on the second day of the 22nd Arab Media Forum, part of the Arab Media Summit 2024.
The Arab Social Media Influencers Award, established in 2015 under Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s directives, aims to honor exceptional Arab digital content creators. The award promotes the creation of content that upholds social values, raises awareness, and inspires audiences, featuring nine categories: Entertainment, Culture and Arts, Business Entrepreneurship, Community Service, Sports, Tourism, Health, Audience, and Influential Personality of the Year.
Mansoor and Latifa bin Mohammed Honor Top Digital Influencers
Mansoor bin Mohammed and Latifa bint Mohammed honored the winners of the Arab world’s most prestigious digital influencer awards.
Guests and Performances
The ceremony was attended by several high-profile figures, including Sheikh Hasher bin Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, Dr. Anwar bin Mohammed Gargash, and Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Gergawi. Also present were Mona Al Marri, Dr. Maitha Buhumaid, and many Arab digital influencers and content creators.
It began with a poem titled “The Hero of Peace,” written by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and dedicated to Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, with a performance by Emirati singer Ahlam.
Influencer Awards and Honorees
Lt. Gen. Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, received the Influential Personality of the Year award for his impactful social media presence in humanitarian and social work. Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, presented the award to Sheikh Khalifa bin Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the son of Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Community Service and Audience Awards
Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed honored the Emirates Red Crescent Authority with the Community Service award for its humanitarian efforts on social media. Saudi journalist Abdulrahman Abumalih, a leading social media influencer and podcasting pioneer, received the Audience category award. Abumalih is the CEO and editor-in-chief of Riyadh-based Thmanyah.
Business Entrepreneurship and Sports Categories
The e-commerce site Ounass and its CEO Khalid Al-Tayyar were awarded in the Business Entrepreneurship category for their success in luxury shopping in the Gulf. Kuwaiti footballer Musaed Al Fawzan received the Sports category award for his achievements and popular YouTube talk show, ‘Thirty Challenge.’
Health, Entertainment, Culture and Arts, and Tourism Awards
Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, honored Dr. Kareem Ali with the Health category award. Dr. Ali is an Egyptian doctor known for his popular YouTube content on clinical toxicology and forensic medicine.
In the Entertainment category, Sheikha Latifa awarded the Saudi filmmakers Godus Bros, founders of a successful digital content production company. Egyptian artist Ahmed Helmy received the Culture and Arts award for his comedic work on social media. Jordanian travel blogger Joe Hattab won the Tourism category for his engaging travel content.
