Youtube’s ‘pre-publish checks’ tool is now available on the mobile app

You can now use your phone to ensure your Youtube content is eligible for monetization.

After launching the pre-publish checks tool last March and seeing its success, Youtube has decided to add the feature to the mobile app as well. The changes are mainly introduced on the app to facilitate matters for content creators who wish to check that their content is ready for monetization before they post.

Essentially, what this tool does is analyze your video’s content to check for potential infringement such as copyright concerns and ad suitability, which makes sure your video abides by Youtube’s ad-friendly content guidelines and your channel is safe from any penalties as shown in the screenshot below:

To give a better idea of how the process works, Youtube’s team explains:

“Copyright claims will only run once the video has been uploaded and processed on the YouTube main app, and monetization checks will only run once the video has been enabled for monetization on the Studio mobile app.”

Having said all of that, this entire process is expected to require more time on the mobile version, which is why Youtube has considered adding notifications to optimize it for creators; all they will need to do is upload a video, set it to ‘public’ and then switch on notifications to know when checks are completed.

As beneficial as this feature might seem, it is unfortunately not available for Shorts and will only be available for those who are eligible for the YouTube Partner Program. However, those who will have access to it in the next couple of weeks should rejoice, seeing that they will be able to streamline the creation and upload process wherever and whenever they are without having to worry about breaching any guidelines or rules.

With all the efforts Youtube has been making to facilitate content monetization for its creators, such as the discussed pre-publish checks tool or the Super Thanks one, the website is increasing its chances of becoming the top video content monetization platform.
