How to know if someone unfollowed you
If you are an avid user of social media platforms such as Instagram or Facebook, you may have noticed that it is quite simple to detect when someone has unfollowed or blocked you. However, with Snapchat, it is not as clear-cut to determine whether you have been unfriended or blocked.
Don’t worry though, there are a few ways to figure it out. We’ll take you through each, step-by-step.
Check Snapchat score
This is the easiest method to use to figure out if someone is still friends with you on the social media application, and it’s also the most reliable way. A user’s Snapchat score, a calculation of the number of Snaps you’ve sent, and received, and the Stories you’ve posted, is present on the user’s profile page.
If you can’t view someone’s Snapchat score, it probably means that they are not your friend or follower on the application.
Follow these steps to check the Snapchat score of another user:
Step 1: Open Snapchat on your Android or iOS. Make sure to update the app to the latest version if you haven’t done that already.
Step 2: Go to your friend’s or follower’s profile. You can search for their username if they are not on your recent chat list.
Step 3: On their profile, underneath their username, is an ‘About Me’ section. In this section, you can find things such as their birthday, star sign, and more. One of the sections will be their Snap Score. It is next to the little ghost icon, as shown below.
Step 4: The score may take a while to load. If there is no score or ‘About Me’ section visible, they are not your friend or follower on the app.
Check list of friends
If you want to be more certain, this is a great step to double-check if someone is still your friend on Snapchat. A person who is no longer your friend will not appear on your friends list. The process is a bit tedious, as it is not easy to keep a tab of all the people on your friend’s list. To find the person on your friends list, follow the steps below:
Step 1: Open Snapchat on your Android or iOS.
Step 2: Tap your profile icon on the upper left corner of the screen.
Step 3: Scroll down to see a ‘My Friends’ option. Click on it to get a list of all your current friends on the social media application.
Step 4: Search for the person’s name here. If you can’t find them, then you can be pretty sure that they are no longer your friend.
Send them a message
This is the most straightforward way to figure out if someone is still your friend on the Snapchat application. Here’s how to execute it:
Step 1: Open Snapchat on your Android or iOS.
Step 2: On the home page, click directly on the chat icon to open your recent chats.
Step 3: Start a chat by clicking the round blue button that appears at the bottom right of the screen. Search for the person you’re investigating, and send them a message.
Step 4: After you send the message, in the chat window, you will see an alert that says: “YOUR CHAT WILL BE PENDING UNTIL XYZ ADDS YOU AS A FRIEND”. If you see this message, it means that the particular person who was previously your friend is no longer your friend.
While this method is a guaranteed test to confirm that the user has removed you, it also reveals to the other person that you want to find out. They may even accept your new friend request.
