Two global K-pop stars BTS Jimin and BIG BANG’s Taeyang have just confirmed their collaboration on Taeyang’s Instagram. Two of K-pop’s biggest stars have come together for a collaboration that seemed like a fan theory waiting to come true. On January 4th, Taeyang and his new company The Black Label announced his new digital single and the release date on Instagram.

Many members of BTS have mentioned that they consider the members of BIG BANG as their role models and fans that know this are ecstatic with this collaboration news. Both groups have achieved global fame with a variety of genres of songs in their repertoire. Some of BIG BANG’s hit songs include “Bang Bang Bang“, “Haru Haru“, and “FXXK IT” while some of BTS’s hits are “Blood Sweat & Tears“, “Dynamite“, and “Spring Day“. Each of these songs has over 100 million views on YouTube.
BTS’s Jimin has explored a variety of music genres with his bandmate but he also sounds amazing solo. “Promise”, one of Jimin’s songs, is one of SoundCloud’s highest-grossing songs. His songs “Serendipity“, “Filter“, and “Lie” each lie within different musical genres and highlight how unique and versatile his voice is, and some of the performance videos for these songs highlight his impeccable dance skills.
Taeyang, himself, also has a successful solo career. As a featuring artist, he started his musical career all the way back in 2002 before his official debut in the group BIG BANG. After his debut, he released hit songs like “I Need A Girl” and “Eyes, Nose, Lips” which, at the time that it was released, became viral and staple songs on the radio in South Korea. In addition to that, this will be Taeyang’s first release after becoming a father. Taeyang and his wife, actress Hyorin Min, got married in 2018 and welcomed their first child into the world in 2021. Fans are also curious how Taeyang’s music style has changed since these developments in his life.
His last release was in 2017 with the song “Wake Me Up”. This will be Taeyang’s first release after shifting from his previous label YG Entertainment to The Black Label. The digital single “Vibe” is due to be released on January 13th.
