Drake’s Life
Drake sparked a social media frenzy on Saturday (January 20) afternoon when he abruptly joined rising content creator Drew Walls’ new “Day In My Life” video trend. After receiving numerous jokes and remarks on Twitter and Instagram for putting up a tripod and photographing his day, followers were surprised to see Walls use the criticism to obtain a bag.
Walls sparked conversation after posting a paid advertisement for the NFL playoffs. In his tweet, he said, “Tune in to watch Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens take on rookie CJ Stroud and the Houston Texans on Saturday 1/20 at 4:30 p.m. EST on ABC, ESPN, ESPN+ [ESPN] #nflonespn #sponsored.”
Get that bag, sis
People quickly applauded him for being able to secure a bag while doing the things for which he had previously been mocked. Drake presumably viewed this as a hint to join the trend, as evidenced by his own post immediately after, which had Black Twitter screaming about Walls’ ability to garner these massive glances consecutively.
Drake’s post read, “[Drew Walls], you tweaking my boy… “You’ve got me on my bullshit.” The video showed him traveling through his large Toronto home, conducting his skincare routine, pouring drinks while wearing a Howard University sweater, comically lying down by the fireplace, and walking out of his pool before pretending to sleep.
Reactions
Lil Yachty remarked on the post: “Finally everyone who always asks me what he does in a day can finally see for themselves…” Druski, a popular social media comic, and Boi-1da, an RIAA-Diamond certified producer, both laughed at the For All The Dogs rapper’s statements.
Southern rap producer BeatKing appeared to allude to Drake’s ongoing feud with Yasiin Bey when he posted, “Having a house this big is definitely Hip Hop.” Drake is set to resume the second leg of his “It’s All A Blur Tour” with J. Cole soon after a recent postponement.
