Instagram NYC Pop-Up Store: Bringing Together Some of the Biggest Brands in 2022 To Increase Revenue on App

Instagram will be launching a physical pop-up store showcasing some of the app’s best products available for purchase.

This week, Instagram will be unveiling a physical pop-up store in NYC, to celebrate the app’s ‘Shop’ feature turning 3.

Since starting in 2019, the ‘Shop’ account on the application has welcomed over 1 million followers, who have been browsing and purchasing a diverse mix of products that creators are selling.

From homemade candles, to trendy clothes, and mainstream beauty items, the Shop tab on Instagram enables big name brands and small local businesses to sell their products directly to consumers.

According to an official statement from Instagram:

“Since 2019, @shop has featured over 1,000 unique small businesses and the amazing products they make. To celebrate its 3rd birthday and hitting 1 million followers, come discover some of @shop’s greatest hits for spring and summer on Instagram and in-person at Instagram’s first pop-up boutique in New York City. Score home, beauty, and lifestyle finds mostly from minority-owned small businesses, including products exclusive to this @shop pop-up!”

The free tool provides great opportunities for creators to increase their product discoverability, it is reported that over 70% of shoppers actually tend to use Instagram to discover new products.

The app has placed a big focus on creating a seamless shopping experience, by allowing businesses to streamline the process and create one primary marketplace.

How can I sell my products on the Shop Page on Instagram?

To sell your items on the Shop account you must:

  • Make sure your account is registered as a Business Account
  • Connect your business to a Facebook page
  • Sync your Shopify store to your Facebook page
  • Link the Shopify account with your Instagram
  • Sell eligible goods that comply with Instagram’s policy

The app has facilitated various ways to improve and maximize the revenue of creators on Instagram, such as adding new features with newer additions like expanded shopping tags and product stickers.

The pop-up is just another interactive way for consumers to discover and purchase new commodities, by reducing the gap between in-app visual product posts, and displaying what its creators are offering in a tangible manner.

Using the ‘Shop’ tab is ideal for creators as they have multiple opportunities to create immersive real-time and pre-made content, in order to create a visual shopping experience that strengthens connections with their audience, whilst showcasing their products to the world.

The NYC pop-up store will be opening this coming Friday and Saturday, 20th & 21st of May, at Chelsea Triangle.
