TikTok tests its newest feature, a YouTube-style horizontal fullscreen mode for its videos.
TikTok Encroaching YouTube’s Territory
Earlier this year, TikTok enabled users to create videos up to 10 minutes in length. This feature attracted people who sought long-form video content like the type usually found on YouTube. The platform was known for its short attention-grabbing content but the app has slowly increased the range of videos users and creators can make and view.
Now more of the app’s audience is used to both short snippy and longer videos, The app is exploring the option of a full-width display to enhance the viewing experience. The display looks similar to YouTube. Users can see a full-screen button on the lower corner of their screens when clicked it would prompt users to flip their devices to the side for better viewing. This feature isn’t available for everyone, but it is only a matter of time before it is.
