How to set up an Instagram business account
On Instagram, you can change your personal profile into a business account to access features that can help you grow your business. This is best suitable for you if you want your business to build a strong brand presence, and connect with your target audience.
With a business account, you have access to free business tools, such as viewing insights that can help you understand who is engaging with your business on Instagram, access to the Professional Dashboard, where you can track your performance, access and discover professional tools, and explore educational information curated by Instagram, and more.
So how do you get these features? Follow this step-by-step guide:
Firstly, to set up an Instagram business account, you need to create an Instagram account or use an existing Instagram account.
When using an existing account
Step 1: Open the Instagram application, and go to your profile.
Step 2: There, click on the Menu burger icon in the upper right corner of the page.
Step 3: Tap “Settings and privacy”. Here, scroll to the bottom until you see “Account type and tools”.
Step 4: Here, the option to “Switch to professional account” will appear. Select that and continue the process on the screen until the end.
Step 5: To share logins using Accounts Center tap Continue. You can follow the steps to connect your business account to a Facebook Page associated with your business. This step is optional, and will make it easier to use all of the features available for businesses across Meta. To skip this step, tap Not now.
Additionally, you can choose to display or hide business information on your profile. To do this, just go to your profile and tap edit profile. Go to Profile display under Public business information to choose whether you want to hide or display your category label and contact info.
When creating a new account
Just sign up regularly, and when choosing what the account is for, just make sure to select business account.
That’s all! Super simple, right?
