The benefits to Stitch

Stitching a video broadens the creativity pool for creators, as it allows for various interpretations of a clip to be translated by different users how they presume.

The Stitch feature makes it possible for content creators to easily Stitch their reactions to other users’ content. To increase your odds of reaching more people, you can indeed react to viral videos that are trending or videos from widely known accounts.

The platform is always looking for ways to make interconnectivity between users more prevelant and Stitching is a great way to collaborate!

You can work with other creators to create a parody out of short clips. Alternatively, you can take an existing snippet and develop a sketch that follows the same pattern as the clip.

Moreover, the above makes it a fantastic tool for brands to incorporate in their social media strategy, when working alongside an influencer to promote a product by taking a clip from an existing viral video!

TikTok is the go-to platform for viral video trends.

Stitching is an extremely useful tool for users to try many different challenges or join the wave, by incorporating their own takes on certain viral trends at the time.

How to do this?

What you’ll need to do to make your first Stitch video is as follows:

  1. Select a video to use and tap the “Share” arrow on the right-hand bar.
  2. Choose the the “Stitch” option. If this button is grayed out or does not appear at all, it indicates that the content creator has disabled Stitching for the video.
  3. Use the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen, select the section of the video that you’d like to Stitch. Note that you can only Stitch up to 5 seconds of video.
  4. Once this is done, select “Next”.
  5. Begin recording your video in response to the original clip or with your own spin. It is important to note that the Stitch feature cannot be used with videos from your camera roll. You must record it directly in the app.
  6. Once you’ve combined the two clips, you can begin editing the video to complete it. Filters, effects, text, and stickers can all be added.  After you’ve finished editing the video, click the “Next” button.
