According to a report by Variety, the $5 million USD cash prize is “believed to be the largest single payout ever in TV history.” With such a substantial reward on the line, Beast Games promises to deliver a spectacle of intense rivalry between the competitors.
MrBeast’s vision
MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, is offering this monumental prize to drive more attention for the competition and draw more participants and viewers alike into the excitement and drama. According to Variety, MrBeast says his “goal is to make the greatest show possible and prove YouTubers and creators can succeed on other platforms. What’s the competition about?
While specific details about the challenges in Beast Games remain under wraps, Prime Video has revealed that the show will feature 1,000 contestants. These participants will compete in a “fast-paced and high-production format,” designed to push their limits and captivate audiences. The scale and complexity of the competition are expected to be unmatched, ensuring a dynamic viewing experience.
The competition is only available for US citizens and visa-holders. Applicants are required to send a one-minute video pitching themselves as a competitor including details such as: name, age, location, and what they do for a living.

Collaboration with Amazon
Jennifer Salke, the head of Amazon MGM Studios, highlighted the appeal of MrBeast, stating that the YouTuber has “captured the attention and imagination of fans of all ages, from all walks of life, and all over the world.” She added that the Amazon team is excited to work with Jimmy to “bring his brilliant, high production, and stakes-raising concepts to Beast Games for our global customers to experience.” This collaboration marks a significant venture for both MrBeast and Amazon.
Additionally, the head of television at Amazon MGM Studios, Vernon Sanders, shared his enthusiasm for the project saying that “when MrBeast first told us about his concept for the show, we were blown away by his ambition to make Beast Games the biggest reality competition series ever.”
